Before migrating their affiliate program to Reditus, they have been running their program on Firstpromoter. See below more about the challenges they faced and why the decided to completely migrate their affiliate program.
Migrating to Reditus has allowed us to scale outside of our own network, as they were able to drive inbound affiliate requests for us. Migrating our program was surprisingly easy and effortless, as we they handled everything for us; we didn’t have to lift a finger.
Stefan Smulders, CEO at Expandi
The challenge before migrating to Reditus
Expandi is always on the lookout for high-potential growth channels and was already familiar with the power of affiliate marketing. While their in-house efforts have been generating their revenue, they struggled to grow beyond their own network and really scale.
- Recruiting new affiliates was manual and labor intensive.
- Limited visibility; few new affiliates discovered their program.
- Affiliate fraud was not being monitored; affiliates ran ads on brand name.
- Lack of granular visibility / API access / deep reports
- Payouts were a manual and tedious process.
In short, they needed a scalable, SaaS‑focused affiliate solution to augment existing efforts, without disrupting their current affiliates and efforts.

Strategy & Action of migration
1. Running both programs in parallel.
As they already has a lot of affiliates, and a working program they wanted to test out Reditus and have been running the first 3-6 months in parallel to test the platform, to experience the marketplace and migrate a few affiliates to see the effort it took. In this time they kept Firstpromoter active while Reditus was driving new affiliate applications from the marketplace.
2. Marketplace Listing + Active Recruitment
As we have a network of 20.000+ B2B SaaS affiliates we also have been working on a recruit feature. Allowing SaaS companies to pro-actively recruit affiliates from our network, which have been vetted by our team. In the first period Expandi has been reaching out to affiliates which matched their profile, and gained new inbound requests from the marketplace listing.
As a well-known brand, Expandi gained traction right after joining. Their advantage is being a versatile tool for any company looking to generate leads. With a broad target market and an optimized funnel (from website visit to signup, and signup to paid), Expandi is an ideal product for affiliates to recommend.
3. Effortless migration, done by Reditus
When the team was convinced Reditus could help them scale beyond their own network and migrate the program, it was time to migrate everyone. We picked a full migration date and started to prepare the data. This is how the process looked in short;

- We would gather insights about their affiliate program
- They would need to install our tracking (already done)
- We would gain access to Firstpromoter, export the needed data
- Prepare the data for importing into Reditus. Including the affiliate links.
- We would connect Stripe on a set day, as from that day we would start generating the commissions.
Key results with Reditus
Next to the results they achieved, Expandi has been a great client to have, as they are always looking for new ways to grow or automate the process. We have been able to implement new features based on the feedback received.
- Coupon tracking > so they can activate communities & agencies.
- Auto reject referrals with fraud > affiliates who run google ads with affiliate links won’t be rewarded.
- Deeper reporting per affiliate so they can see what is working, and what isn’t.
- Hubspot + API integration > so they can analyse the data in BigQuery & within the CRM for everyone to see.
- Automated payouts > receiving one single invoice from Reditus, where we take care of all payouts.
What is next?
At the moment all people referring Expandi are pushed to Reditus, soon they will also implement the in-app referral program, allowing every user to recommend Reditus and rewarding them with in-app benefits (see the case study from Snitcher for ideas).
AI Affiliate recruitment; we are developing a feature where we can find potential affiliates by leveraging AI, Expandi has joined the pilot for this and will be gaining new affiliates from this feature. Affiliates which already have written content for the keywords they want to rank for, already promote the competitor or have any other relevance towards their ICP.

Reditus was founded by Joran Hofman, who was first a B2B SaaS affiliate himself before founding Reditus. As an affiliate, he ran into so many issues himself, that he decided to build an affiliate management system. We believe that when we help the affiliates make money, everyone benefits. This is one of the reasons why affiliates have a similar-looking dashboard, receive live chat support, and have lots of materials to achieve success.
As Joran Hofman has been a Head of Customer Success before starting Reditus, you can clearly see the CS mindset baked into the company. The price depends on what you get and the support you receive. With value being something really tangible, Monthly Recurring Revenue is generated via affiliates.
